Suya is controlled heat and fire. Its power lies in the balance of ground peanuts, chilli heat, and savoury undertones working in unison. Rather than layering separate powders, our Spice Therapy Suya blend delivers a calibrated profile in one application.
Ingredients
- 500g thinly sliced beef
- 2 tbsp neutral oil
- 3–4 tbsp Spice Therapy Suya blend
- Sliced onions, cabbage and tomatoes (for serving)
Method
- Pat beef dry and lightly coat with oil.
- Apply the Spice Therapy blend generously, pressing into the meat.
- Thread onto skewers. Leave to sit for 15 mins.
- Grill over medium heat until charred on the edges and cooked through.
- Rest briefly before serving with onions.
- Sprinkle Yaji Magic over it, or set some to the side for the complete experience.
Notes From the Apothecary
Groundnuts provide plant-based protein and natural oils that carry heat with balance. Cayenne and chili stimulate circulation and metabolic activity, while ginger and garlic support digestion and immune strength. When properly measured, heat does not overwhelm, it activates.
Our blend is milled in disciplined small batches to preserve volatile oils and natural potency, no preservatives, no fillers, no compromise.
How Best to Serve
Best served where fire is welcome. Suya belongs to open air, evening grills, and confident appetites. It coats beautifully on beef, lamb, or chicken, forming a crust that seals in juices while releasing aroma with every turn.
It is equally powerful in controlled kitchen settings — oven-roasted, pan-seared, or air-fried. The result remains structured heat, not reckless spice.
The Ritual
Suya is not about aggression. It is about mastery. In the apothecary kitchen, we measure heat with precision. Too little is forgettable. Too much is careless. The balance is intentional.
Stand steady. Season deliberately. Power reveals itself to the disciplined.

This recipe is really straightforward, and with the suya blend, we barely required any other ingredients. I did have to keep checking the oven to be sure it didn’t burn since I wasn’t sure how long to leave it in. In the end it turned out delicious and I will be making more.
